The artist : I am a mosaic artist from Austin, Texas. I am passionate about creating beauty through the art of mosaics. I create fine art, installations, commissions, garden art, and large-scale designs.
The sponsor : The Picechs are proud to have been, since 1920, a grape-growing family on the slopes of Pradis, near Cormòns. In 1963, hard work and courage earned the family ownership of the vineyards they had been farming for some time. In 1989, Roberto took over the estate from his father Egidio, who was known as “il Ribel”, and his mother Jelka, turning it into the much-envied operation it is today. Low-yielding vineyards looked after like gardens and grape maceration in the cellar are the secrets that make our wines so distinctively individual, impervious to passing fads and the latest technology. Picech wines reflect the history of this fantastic territory, a tradition that Roberto continues with assistance from his wife Alessia and their children, Athena and Ruben.
The artist : Yulia Hanansen’s internationally acclaimed Mosaic Sphere Studio, LLC produces Fine Art mosaics in a variety of traditional and experimental techniques. Work can be made for commission or can be purchased from a selection of ready-to-buy pieces. All mosaics are one-of-a-kind, designed by award winning artist Yulia Hanansen. The mission of the studio is to raise public awareness about the fine art mosaics and to demonstrate superb qualities of mosaic techniques. Our educational efforts made it possible for hundreds of people to learn how to make mosaics on their own.
The sponsor : Giuseppe Stanig started his winemaking activities at Albana di Prepotto in 1920.
More than ninety years have passed and the Farm is now managed by his nephews Federico and Francesco with the same love, enthusiasm and respect for the traditions connected to the land and the wine, which is still produced by hand with great passion.
The Farm is situated in the heart of the Eastern Friuli Hills and extends over an area of approximately 9 hectares, on which the classic Fiuli varieties and some special autochthonous plants, such as the Schioppettino di Prepotto, are grown.
